The Microsoft SQL Server ODBC Driver is an ODBC driver for third-party applications to connect to a SQL Server database.

Installation

Refer to the official Microsoft documentation to install Install the Microsoft ODBC driver for SQL Server (Linux).

FAQ

You may encounter the following errors when performing the installation by referring to the above instructions:

dpkg: error processing archive /var/cache/apt/archives/msodbcsql18_18.3.3.1-1_arm64.deb (--unpack):
unable to install new version of '/usr/lib64/libmsodbcsql-18.so': No such file or directory
Errors were encountered while processing:
/var/cache/apt/archives/msodbcsql18_18.3.3.1-1_arm64.deb
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

This issue is due to the fact that Microsoft's installer tries to install files under both /usr/lib and /usr/lib64, but Rockchip's Chromium needs to soft-link /usr/lib64 to /usr/lib in order to work properly, which causes dpkg to fail to install the files correctly installation.

Workaround

Please execute the following command to remove the soft link:

sudo rm /usr/lib64

You can then proceed to re-execute from the step in the original tutorial where the error occurred.

warning

This will cause Chromium to function abnormally and it is not safe to back out.
